Motorola Atrix Unlocked 4G Cell Phone with Android 2.2 OS. 4-inch HD touchscreen

Motorola has released the most powerful smartphone yet- Motorola Atrix. The dual core powered smart phone is supported by a superb and stable Android 2.2 that comes along with HTML5 support. Some of the distinguishing features that separates it from the other phones are that it processes the applications at two times the regular speed. It also can play HD Videos. With 1GB RAM, it can be competitive to even the laptops. In addition to these features, there is also the Motorola Atrix Webtop Application that allows the smart phone to be mounted on to a laptop dock and thus, powering the entire laptop. The dock allows the smartphone to be combined with the laptop and thus making it a truly smartbook.

Motorola Atrix Unlocked 4G

The Atrix comes loaded with lots of software, commonly known as bloatware, but you get a lot of it. The software that runs on the computer is called "Motorola Media Link", this is kind of like "iTunes" in the sense that the Media Link software is a way for your computer to communicate with the Atrix. This nifty program will take you itunes music (Not DRM protected) and place the music on your new phone. You can also transfer your pod casts too. The Media Link is automatic and does not need to be messed with. I had no problems with the installation or use of the software. The Software is stored on your phone and will try to load on any computer that the Atrix is hooked up to.

Some of the really things about the Atrix that I like is the Micro SD slot (32BG max) for added memory and the user can remove the battery without having to go find apple support. I was also able to keep my unlimited data package, although a lot of AT&T customers have not been so lucky. AT&T also offers their $5.00/ month warranty on the phone as compared to the Iphone, and you do not have to hook the phone up to a computer the first time you use it. You do need to sign up for a MOTO account, nut it only takes a few seconds and you are able to use you new cell phone.

Things I do not like. I do not like the feel of the phone. My Iphone 4 feels better constructed and feels like it will not easily slip out of my hands, unlike the Atrix. I have not yet dropped the phone. The battery seems to take a long while to receive a charge too.

The phone itself is good too, sound quality is clear and the buttons are big, it also provides good feedback so you know what you have pressed. Like other Nokias battery life is strong, usually a full charge last 4 to 5 days with moderate talk time.

The bottom line is if you want a stylish, light, practically phone with good battery life and music capabilities then you can't go wrong with this Nokia. If you want something more powerful with full 3G then shop for something else. The downside is the camera, it's practically useless in low light situations. Even in moderate light there are still lots of image noise, you can get away with it a little bit by it being 3.2 Megapixels thus always giving you high resolution but at 3.2 it takes quite a few seconds for it to process the picture. Also since it's not a 3G phone, using EDGE for web browsing is a bit on the sluggish side

Great phone in brand new condition despite saying refurbished. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because it did not come with original samsung battery. When tried to charge it with the power on would not let you because it is not a certified samsung battery. However if you turn the phone off it will charge. Packaging and shipping was not a issue at all. Came well packed with handbook and wall charger. Phone was easily upgraded to verizon account with no problems.

Advice to get the most out of this device: 

• Upgrade your data plan to $25/month for 2GB. I went through 140MB on the first day (downloading apps, customizing, and setting up the device). 
• If you are having difficulty opening the battery door, get your fingernail right underneath the edge of the battery cover near the bottom of the volume rocker and pull away from device like you are trying to break it off (It pops-off rather than slide-off like the SD/SIM card cover). After the second time opening the battery door, it comes off pretty easily. 
• If you're having "unsuccessful installations" of apps from the app market, a workaround is to go to settings>SD & phone storage > Unmount SD card. Then go back to the market and the app(s) should install. Go back to the same settings window to mount your SD card again. 
• Download "Rockplayer Lite" for video playback - It plays nearly all formats (and the stock video player has issues playing back large and .avi files). 
• Download "doubletwist" on your Mac or PC to sync your iTunes, photos, and videos (I have a Mac and have no issues syncing). 
• Buy an extra, generic battery from eBay (I got one for only $3.37 and is "rated at 1600mAh". After using, it lasts about as long as the stock battery). 
• Buy a Skinomi screen protector for $10 on Amazon. For touch-screens, it feels less intrusive than Zagg's Invisible-shields and offers the same protection.
